Blair has been adopted into a beautiful family with a large farm and many other horses - their facilities are unmatched and will prepare Blair for her new chapter in life! Congratulations Blair!
First comes momma, then comes baby!
First arrival. Blair and Baylee arrived at Cariboo Blue Farm Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10AM.

We have very minimal information on these two beauties. Blair was originally rescued from an Alberta Auction by the Canadian Norwegian Fjord Horse Rescue Network. She was visibly pregnant, and in May of 2020 she gave birth to Baylee. Baylee is now 7 months old and is unhandled however she is incredibly curious and trusting. Blair is very, very shy and skittish, untrusting and is very nervous when anyone approaches her. She requires time, care and a good solid foundation, there is work to be done!

About Blair
Blair seems to be predominately Fjord, however she may be a cross. She has some telltale Fjord features including; color, prominent horizontal stripes on her legs (zebra stripes), especially her forelegs. Her mane is thick, beautiful and contrasting black and white (drool worthy).
At First Assessment
At first meeting, off the hop, Blair is unhandled and very fearful. She could be fearful for a number of reasons. We know nothing of her past, and we owe it to her to start her from the ground up - she deserves a solid foundation to become less fearful and more confident.
Beautiful Foreleg Zebra Stripes

Blair's First Human Touches at the Steady Steed Project Vibrating and very afraid - these are the first steps for her to understand that not all humans are scary.
Blair's Conformation

Blair has a bit of a mom belly, but that is to be expected and most definitely appreciated! She has good conformation, a short back and strong legs and those famous fjord feet. Overall she has great conformation. She is a beautiful sturdy little big horse.
Height: 13 hands
Age: 8 - 10 years old
September 25 Video Update
Blair is starting to feel comfortable, she is beginning to understand that it is ok to relax around scary humans. She was just vibrating with fear when she arrived - new place, new human, new sounds.
October 7 Video Update
Blair is doing amazingly well in such a short period of time.

About Baylee
Baylee at 4 months old, she is huge already, and in 12 weeks may be almost as tall as momma! Baylee has momma's good looks plus a little something special - her mane and tail are wavy and curly! She is built beautifully, has very straight legs, a pretty little face and very kind eyes.
At First Assessment
Baylee is innocent and much less fearful than mommy, very curious and just overall kind and sweet. Here is the perfect opportunity too offer this little girl the tools she needs to become a confident partner to her future forever family.
